How far away should a pop filter be from the mic?

For optimal results, mount the pop screen at least 10 cm (4 inches) away from the mic. It's also a good idea to angle the pop screen slightly; this way you avoid sound reflections bouncing between the capsule and the pop screen.

Where do I attach my pop filter?

Position the pop filter close to, but not touching, the microphone. Angle the microphone and pop filter to the 10 o'clock or 2 o'clock position. This will further help to prevent plosive sounds. Depending on personal preference, 2” to 6” distance between the microphone and the shield will be adequate.

Pop filters are necessary for anything voice related. It helps with sounds such as 'P' and 'B'; This is called plosives. Plosives is extra air going onto the microphone causeing a very annoying heavy breath/bass sound. If you care about audio quality and you want to be great at what you do, get a pop filter.

How do you keep a pop filter from falling?

If it slips try putting a few turns of some kind of sturdy tape around the stand first. So the clamp has sybe rubber something to bite into. Duct tape or gaffer tape or maybe electrical tape. This pop filter does have a kind of cheap clamp but it work on my stands OK.
