Can you sand veneer piano?

Be careful sanding on veneer pieces! Because most pianos have veneer pieces, you'll need to be much more delicate in sanding (preferably hand sanding) to make sure you don't sand off the veneer completely.
Can you refinish veneer?
Veneered furniture can be refinished like other wood furniture, as long as the veneer is not too thin, and you take care not to remove too much of the veneer when removing the old finish.
Can you refinish a piano yourself?
If you love the traditional look of a wooden piano and you just can't bring yourself to paint over the natural grain, you can still give your old piano a new finish by staining it.
