your probably overdriving your amp. the way you said you have your amp set up.. with high gain and low volume, try doing the opposite. put your volume all the way up.. and put low gain.

Purchase a noise suppressor pedal.

  1. Turn the noise reduction knob clockwise to reduce the ambient sound and feedback from the guitar.
  2. Play with the threshold knob until you do not hear static from your amp. You have to find the level for your specific guitar and amp.
