I always felt that the GHS LJ40TM strings were made for DADGAD tuning. Whatever you normally use is also going to work for DADGAD, in general. If you are going to play DADGAD fingerstyle, then light strings are certainly appropriate. If you are a strummer and want lots of volume, then medium is often preferred.
