What is a triplet quaver?
Quaver triplets (eighth notes) are the same, we take two of the notes in the triplet and add them together. So a quaver plus a quaver is equal to two quavers or a crotchet beat.
How many beats does a triplet quaver have?
Each triplet quaver is two thirds of the length of a normal quaver. There are five possible 2-beat Rhythm Segments containing triplet quavers without rests. Note that the triplets always start on a downbeat. Click on any Rhythm Segment to hear its Audio.
What are dotted quaver beats?
A dotted quaver lasts for three-quarters of a beat because half of a quaver (half beat) is a semiquaver (quarter beat). A dot at the side of a note increases its length by half of the value of the note.
Are dotted notes triplets?
5 the normal value. So a dotted 8th note actually equals an eighth+sixteenth, or a dotted quarter note equals a quarter+eighth note. a triplet is just a way of playing an extra note per beat.
