The musical term dal segno, which is Italian for “from the sign," refers to a symbol or navigation marker that instructs a musician to repeat a passage starting from the sign. In word form, it is most often abbreviated D.S. in musical notation or just called a segno in English.
How do you write a segno?
The segno is also most conveniently inserted as tempo text from the word menu or by typing Command-4 or Ctrl+Shift+4. This is not the only way of inputting these symbols � but it is the easiest! Note that da capo (D.C.) and dal segno (D.S.) text is also found in the Tempo text word menu.
