Ukulele friction pegs are slipping

If your strings are slipping on the peg posts it's down to there not being enough winds on the peg, and if they are slipping off the bridge slots it is down to the knots at that end not being secure. Either way, the blame lies with the person who installed the strings and not the ukulele itself.

Why do my tuning pegs keep slipping?

Sometimes pegs can't keep your string in place because the peg itself has worn down and won't grip properly in the hole. ... Pegs will also slip if you fail to gently apply pressure when you're tuning your violin. The motion involves turning and pushing to secure it.

How do you adjust friction tuner?

The way it works is very simple: a screw in the top part of the peg controls the pressure applied in between the metal plates located in the front and back of the tuner. Tightening/loosening the screw with small turns (an 1/8 turn already makes a significant difference), we can set each tuner as it should be.
