How do you measure a tabla head?

Please measure it first. We measure the replacement head's diameter from inside edge to inside edge of the inside of the head. We do not measure from the top of the head and the braid is never included in measurement.

The musician plays the tabla while seated, with the baya to the left of the daya. Sound is produced on the drums through a variety of different finger and hand strokes. Each drum stroke can be expressed by a corresponding syllable, used for both teaching and performance purposes.
