Is it OK to stack bookshelf speakers?
yes there will be drawbacks. You will get interference between the two speakers with some cancellation and lobbing effects. You will only want to run one of them as center.
Can you put speakers on top of speakers?
Placing the speakers on top of the sub is thus not really any worse than a full-range system with all the drivers in the same box, and in fact may be better since the sub and other drivers are in separate cabinets. Short answer: Most likely no problem.
Is it OK to stack stereo components?
The amplifier needs to be able to radiate any heat it generates whilst it's in use so placing devices on top of isn't something we'd encourage. Whether you're using our equipment in your stack or units from another brand, we recommend that the amplifier/power amplifier is placed on the top of any stack of electronics.
Can stereo speakers be too far apart?
Speaker separation.
Try to get about 4 feet of separation for bookshelf speakers or 8 feet for floorstanding speakers. If your speakers are too close, sounds will blend together and become muddy. If they are too far apart, there will be a gap between the two halves of the stereo image (more on this later).
