Is Reaktor worth?
As long as you start with Syntorial so you have some help getting up to speed with how to program a synthesizer, Reaktor is a pretty good way to start, and it's a phenomenal synth. Actually it's not even a synth, it's an environment, or maybe more properly a universe of infinite synth possibilities.
Is Reaktor blocks polyphonic?

The caveat is that at the instrument level, Reaktor is monophonic, polyphonic signals only work inside instruments, connections between instruments must be monophonic using a line per channel e.g. two for stereo - a left and a right.
