How far should your pop filter be from your mic?
For optimal results, mount the pop screen at least 10 cm (4 inches) away from the mic. It's also a good idea to angle the pop screen slightly; this way you avoid sound reflections bouncing between the capsule and the pop screen.

The pop filter shouldn't need to be tailored in any way during the recording after its initial setup. Finally, take down the pop filter after use and rub it down gently with a rag or cloth. This will get rid of any moisture that built up on the filter during your recording session.
How big should a pop filter be?
Size. Pop filters are generally between four and six inches. The smaller ones limit range of motion, because the singer or speaker has to be positioned just-so in front of them. If you have a smaller mic, a smaller pop filter is probably best.
