Clogging is the result of water condensing in the windway. Your warm, moist breath meets the cool surface of the windway, and water condenses out. Warming the head of the recorder in your pocket or between your arm and body prior to playing will result in condensation forming more slowly, but it will still form.
How do I stop my recorder from clogging?
Joris recommended throwing a bit of water at the instrument! Put the head joint under the tap, and trickle a tiny bit of water down the windway. Or, if that scares you, get a little paintbrush, and get the bristles wet. Then paint the block of your recorder through the fipple, and get it nicely moistened.
How do you clean a recorder instrument?
Resin recorders can be washed in one piece using a neutral kitchen detergent. For instruments equipped with keys, take care to avoid allowing the keys to become wet. Grease should be applied to any cork joints when assembling a recorder, but it is not necessary to wipe the grease away every time.
