Control access to input monitoring on Mac

1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Security & Privacy, then click Privacy. Open the Privacy pane for me.
2. Select Input Monitoring.
3. Select the checkbox next to an app to allow it to monitor your input devices.

Where is the input monitoring button in Garageband?

To turn on the Monitoring button: 1) Make sure that you've selected the track. 2) Go down into the Smart Controls of the track you want to monitor, and click on the little monitoring button that looks like an upside-down Wi-Fi symbol. It will turn a dark-orange color once it's turned on.
