What does LV stand for in percussion?
A "laissez vibrer" or "l.v." can be indicated by an open tie on a single-duration note. Technically this means to let the instrument ring freely and not dampen it. You can put a dampen indication later, but it is often clearer to notate the duration of the sustain if it's not too long.
