How do you remove hiss from an amp?
Try turning down the volume so not to overload the amp or the speaker. The there is inherent distortion in the audio signal, play different audio. If the speaker is blown-out, repair it.
Why is my amp hissing?
A healthy amp is likely to make some sort of noise when idle. The amount varies depending on the voicing and design of the amp in question. Hiss is caused by high volume settings, high gain settings or bright EQ settings. Sadly there's no way to avoid this if you choose to play in this way.
How do I get rid of static in my amp?
Turn down the gain on your amp or guitar.
There should be at least two knobs on the face of your guitar. One of these should be the gain. Turn this counter-clockwise to reduce the gain. You can keep the gain at three-fourths max or less on both your amp and guitar to prevent feedback.
How do I get my speakers to stop hissing?
If you hear a hissing sound, turn down the gain on the amplifier and turn up the volume on the receiver. Adjust these two settings to minimize the hiss. Make sure the patch cables between the amplifier and the receiver are not running near other power wires (including the wire providing power to the amplifier).
