Why does my guitar sound bad in headphones?
Guitar spearkers have a narrower and less flat frequency response vs. headphones or monitors. The better the headphones you get, the worse it's going to sound because better headphones will have even wider freq ranged and flatter response. An EQ will help but it won't respond dynamically the way that a speaker does.
Why does my guitar amp sound better with headphones?
Headphones usually have a wider frequency response than computer speakers, including higher highs and MUCH deeper bass. Listen to music on your computer speakers for a while, then put the headphones on. You'll hear the difference there as well.
Is playing guitar with headphones bad?
Get better high quality headphones (the big ones). Practicing with headphones shouldn't hurt you and practicing to make things cleaner is good.
