For basic cleaning just rub the covers down with a microfiber cloth and use a toothpick to get the gunk out of the holes (hold the harp so the stuff falls out, not in). If it needs more than that you have to take it apart, and it's held together with nails, which is a pain.
How long does a Marine Band harmonica last?
With steady playing, a harmonica should go at least 6 months before a reed goes bad. Modern harmonicas seem to last much longer than the older ones.
Is Marine Band a good harmonica?
Overall Verdict: 8.5. All in all, the Marine Band is a fantastic choice as a first harmonica and also for anyone who still doesn't have one in his collection. I have a couple of them and it was my first real harmonica which drew me into this world – so I hold massive respect for this instrument.
