How do I test my second hand digital piano?

Play every single key and make sure it sounds. After that, use the pedal all the way to the right and make sure the sound sustains when you lift your finger from a key. Try holding the pedal down while you press 20-30 keys, one after the other, and see if any pitches "drop" from the sustained sound. They should not.

Do digital pianos lose their value?

Digitals depreciate pretty quickly ... especially when a new model supersedes the original. There are some "cult" favorites that hold, or increase, they're value (wish I hadn't sold my Wurlitzer 200A!). There have been some serious improvements in sound quality and hammer actions during the last ten years or so.

What is a good price for a digital piano?

Slab digital pianos start as low as $200, with most priced between $500 and $2,000, and a few as high as $7,000. An optional matching stand with integrated pedal assembly usually costs $200 to $300 more, but a simple, generic stand can be had for as little as $40.
