[Fantaisie-Impromptu] uses many cross-rhythms (the right hand plays sixteenth notes against the left hand playing triplets). It's fairly easy for me to play the right hand part and the left hand part separately, but I find it very difficult to keep the correct rhythm when I try to play both hands together.

If you play it too fast the "moire-pattern" effect will vanish because the ear cant distinguish the tones, but where is the limit when this will happen? you should think more like a musician, and less like a physicist, and then it wont matter how fast you play.

It is not horrendously difficult once you conquer the polyrhythms. There is a slow "moderato cantabile" middle section which is quite easy.

Fantaisie impromptu is infinitely easier. Winter wind isn't quite as difficult as it first sounds... but its still extremely advanced. The impromptu is much more manageable.
