Frequency analysis with Audacity
Highlight the area with the sound without background noise and start with analyze → frequency analysis. Set the size (accuracy) to 2048! Read the frequencies, peaks with the help of the cursor! Draw the simplified frequency spectrum into your notes!
Can audacity change frequency?
Use the Frequency slider, or manually enter a number into the Percent Change box. Negative values lower the pitch, and positive values raise the pitch. Click Preview to sample your changes and adjust the options to your liking. When you are satisfied, click OK to apply the changes to the selected portion of your track.
What does plot spectrum do in audacity?
Plot Spectrum takes the selected audio (which is a set of sound pressure values at points in time) and converts it to a graph of frequencies (the horizontal scale in Hz) against amplitudes (the vertical scale in dB). Plots are made using a mathematical algorithm known as a Fast Fourier Transform or FFT.
