ASIO4ALL. Although the ASIO protocol doesn't officially support multiple devices unless they have dedicated drivers, there are a couple of notable exceptions in the case of generic multi-device drivers that allow several completely different interfaces to be combined.

Without multi-device drivers, there's no way to install and run two or more identical audio interfaces in a computer, since the operating system would have no way to differentiate between the various units.

How to set up your interface and DAW with ASIO4ALL

  1. Go to the Windows Start Menu and open ASIO4ALL Offline Settings.
  2. Select your interface by clicking the button next to it. It will light up blue when selected.
  3. Open the input/playback settings menu of your DAW and select ASIO4ALL as the input/playback device.

Do I need ASIO 4 All?

ASIO4All is perfect if all you need is playback from the DAW, but you don't have an audio interface connected. I have occasionally used it that way myself, to play some mix in the DAW when I had my laptop with me but, for some reason, none of my audio interfaces around.
