How long does it take for Abrsm theory results?

For applicants, this will be approximately four weeks after the exam date for Grades 1 to 5 Online Music Theory and six weeks after the exam date for Grade 6 to 8 paper based exams, subject to our quality assurance checks.

How do I check my Abrsm results online?

Releasing results to candidates

  1. Go to 'My previous exams'.
  2. Click 'Release to candidate' next to a result.
  3. If the candidate (parent/carer) has an ABRSM account, they will receive an email letting them know that they can log in and view their result.

Is Abrsm Grade 8 equivalent to a level?

The simple answer is: yes (but it's not quite that simple). Grade 8 piano is classed as a Level 3 qualification in the UK. Level 3 qualifications include A-levels, amongst other qualifications. This means that Grade 8 is the equivalent of an A-level in that it falls in the same classification bracket as A-Levels.

What is the pass mark for music theory exams?

Each Grade 6 to 8 Music Theory paper is marked out of a total of 100, with 66 marks required for a Pass, 80 for a Merit and 90 for a Distinction.
