What is a good latency for Ableton?
anything below 5ms is fine. Last edited by cavern on Tue Sep 25, 2007 3:32 pm, edited 1 time in total. I don't think 12ms is bad at all, that's like standing 12 feet from your speakers, hardly a hug delay. I run my buffers at 256 or 512 samples and never really notice any latency issues.
How does Ableton calculate latency?
Hover your cursor over the device title bar in Device View to display the latency in the status bar. The device latency is shown both in samples and in milliseconds. Note: If Delay Compensation is not active under the Options menu, then it won't be possible to display the latency of a device.
Does Ableton compensate for latency?
What is Delay Compensation? Certain devices, plug-ins, and track delays may introduce latency. Live's Delay Compensation automatically compensates audio, automation, and modulation by offsetting all tracks by the required amount to keep them in sync with each-other.
