al Fine – This tells MuseScore to return to the segno and play until the Fine is encountered. In the inspector there is an option to play repeats the second time. To set this option, select the D.S. or D.C. label and check “Play repeats” in the inspector.
Do you do repeats with DS al fine?
D.C. (da capo, “from the head”) means repeat back to the start of the piece. Al fine means after repeating back, play to the fine marking. Traditionally, musicians skip over any first endings after they go back for a D.C. (or D.S.) repeat.
What is the difference between DC al fine and DS al fine?
D.S. al Fine means to go back to the dal segno sign and repeat until the point marked Fine. Fine (pronounced "feenay') is the Italian word for "end." D.C. al Fine tells you to go back to the beginning of the piece and repeat until you come to the marking Fine.
