Upon defeat, the Hollow Knight dies and the Knight absorbs the Infection into themself. The Knight is then sealed inside the Black Egg and the game ends.

In order to achieve this ending, all you need to do is to kill all 3 of the dreamers and then head to the Temple of the Black Egg. Here, you will come face to face with the Hollow Knight who will be the main boss battle.
