What are tabs in guitar?
Guitar tablature, usually referred to as “tab”, is a method of notating music that empowers beginner guitarists to learn songs quickly and easily. Guitar tabs share similarities with music staff notation by showing you what notes to play, how long to play them, and what techniques to use.
Can you learn guitar through tabs?
I find tabs to be an easy way to get a guitarist to learn a lot of different songs very fast. However, tabs do not notate the rhythm and feel of the notes. I used a combination of tabs/chords and using my ear to develop my playing.
