Electronic drum (e-drum) latency is defined as the time delay between the moment a drum pad is hit and when a sound is produced by the system. Latency is measured in milliseconds.
Is drum pad necessary?
It's critical to practice as much as possible, and on a real kit, if you can. However, it's not always possible or practical to use a real drum kit every time you practice (and sometimes it's better not to!). To maximise your time, and to ensure you keep progressing with your skills, you'll need a drum pad.
What is the drum pad called?
A practice pad or drum pad, is a piece of equipment used by drummers and other percussionists to practice quietly, or to warm up before a performance.
