What's the difference between bass clef and treble?
The treble clef, or G clef, is used for the higher sounding notes, usually played with the right hand. The bass clef, or F clef, is used for the lower sounding notes, usually played with the left hand. When the two clefs are put together by a brace they are called a grand staff.
How far is bass clef from treble?
The bass clef has the F-below-middle-C close to the middle, the treble clef has the G-above-middle-C close to the middle. You're right, middle C is missing and is the ledger line above the left hand, below the right hand. But 11 lines would be unreadable.
